On the lookout for
My upbringing in Glasgow, Scotland has always been a very big part of my identity. Its industrial history of invention inspired me - Scots have a real underdog, diaspora mentality: go out, build something real, contribute beyond yourself. Football was my first obsession but not getting offered a professional contract at 18 pushed me toward University, learning languages and studying economics instead.
Before venture, I worked in M&A inside a large data, media and technology conglomerate, in London - executing deals across 15 countries across 5 continents. I started angel investing in 2013 and through an MBA at IE in Madrid I became more exposed to the tech ecosystem, leading me to join Adara. Outside of work I enjoy travelling and exploring the world with my kids.
I think AI is the most important technological shift in human history - not another software cycle, but a fundamental change in how we create knowledge and solve problems. What I look for in a founder team is domain expertise paired with commercial ambition: people who understand a problem deeply, adapt fast, take hard feedback, and hold their conviction under uncertainty.
Working with me is collaborative but direct - I'll challenge assumptions and say the hard thing when it's needed, because that's part of helping founders decide better under pressure. Much of what I do is commercial: sharpening narrative, positioning and roadmap to unlock the next stage of growth.
I am deeply curious, and I believe in the underdog - because I am one, and because some of the biggest breakthroughs in history came from places nobody expected.
