Why we invested in Airflows: Turning AI into reliable software for the enterprise

Airflows Co-Founders Nacho Cabrera (L), Edu Rivas, Antonio Lillo & Paco Hernández (R)

We are pleased to announce our investment in Airflows, a platform that turns AI into deterministic, auditable software systems for the enterprise. While most AI tools generate outputs, Airflows builds systems—applications, workflows, and agents that behave predictably, can be governed, and run reliably in production environments.

Adara Ventures led the €2M round, with participation from Armilar Venture Partners.

The challenge: accelerating software creation, while securing sovereignty and governance

Enterprises today face a fundamental gap. Generative AI has dramatically accelerated how software is created, but it remains difficult to make AI systems behave like real software: consistent, traceable, and controllable. Prototypes are easy; production systems are not. As a result, organisations are caught between fast experimentation and the need for governance, auditability, and operational reliability.

Introducing Airflows: Structured AI for Enterprise Software

Airflows addresses a critical gap in enterprise software by introducing a structured, deterministic layer for AI-powered applications. At the core of the platform is a domain-specific language (DSL) engine that acts as the application's single source of truth—designed to be versionable, auditable, and fully controllable. This makes the application definition explicit, ensuring reproducibility and governance from the ground up.

On top of this foundation, an AI copilot accelerates development by translating requirements into structured definitions, helping teams iterate quickly while keeping logic governed and auditable. The combination of AI acceleration with deterministic execution enables a new way to build software: one where AI is not just assistive, but operational.

From Prototypes to Production: What You Can Build with Airflows

To bring both business and technical stakeholders into the same workflow, Airflows supports multi-modal modeling—visual tooling, Excel-style interfaces, and developer workflows such as VS Code. The platform is built around a deterministic execution layer that orchestrates workflows and rules for predictable outcomes—an important distinction when software needs to behave consistently and be explainable in production.

With Airflows, enterprises can move from prompts and prototypes to systems that run real business processes—with the reliability, governance, and predictability that production environments demand. The platform supports a broad set of enterprise needs, from internal applications and workflow orchestration to intelligent capabilities embedded directly into apps, including assistants, extractors, tool-using agents, and agent orchestration with human-in-the-loop patterns. Use cases span operations tools, portals, Excel replacement, and automated workflows.

A repeat founder team with deep enterprise and security heritage

Airflows is founded by Antonio Lillo, Eduardo Rivas, Paco Hernández, Ignacio (Nacho) Cabrera, and Julio Casal—a team with decades of experience building and scaling enterprise software businesses.

The founders' backgrounds include companies such as AlienVault, Constella Intelligence, Stratio, and Paradigma.

They are also previous Adara-backed founders, and we're excited to partner with them again on this next chapter.

Our thesis: faster software, without compromise

At Adara, we believe the next generation of enterprise application development will be defined by platforms that bridge the gap between AI-driven speed and the governance enterprises cannot compromise on. Airflows resolves this tension at the architecture level—combining a versionable, auditable application blueprint with AI-assisted creation and deterministic execution. The result: fast iteration without sacrificing reliability, in environments where consistency and explainability are non-negotiable.

We're excited to back this repeat founder team as they scale the platform and help enterprises build critical software faster—safely, predictably, and with the governance that production demands.
