Legal work still runs on repetition. Contracts get drafted from scratch when a template would do, sent back and forth for review with no clear record of who touched what, and signed off with tools that are not built for how a modern legal team actually works. The legal industry has been one of the slowest to digitize, held back by conservative practices and, more often than not, by legal teams who simply lack the technical support to change how they operate. The result is that lawyers spend a disproportionate share of their time on low value, repetitive document work instead of the judgment calls that actually need a lawyer.

One system, a full record, and no more guesswork on who did what

Bigle runs an all-in-one legal-operations platform built around its CLM, electronic signature and Libra, its legal AI assistant. Teams can create and negotiate documents from approved templates, manage them through execution and maintain a complete contractual record in one place. Libra is embedded directly in that workflow: it can analyse, summarise, translate and generate legal content, while its newer AI Skills automate tasks such as extracting contract metadata and completing signer information. The positioning is no longer just about digitising document work, but about making the contract lifecycle structured, searchable and increasingly automated without compromising the security and confidentiality legal teams require.

From two brothers' shared frustration to a platform used across sectors

Bigle is based in Barcelona, with an additional office in Mexico City. Founded in 2017 by brothers Alejandro and Sergio Esteve de Miguel, who had both seen the same problem from different sides (Alejandro as a lawyer who experienced firsthand how much time contract management consumed, and Sergio through a background in audit and compliance), the company today runs a platform used by businesses across sectors to manage their legal operations, after the brothers also co-founded Barcelona's Global Legal Tech hub along the way. Bigle is the kind of vertical software Deep Domain Computation describes, built with deep domain expertise baked in rather than adapted from a generic tool.

The brothers, and the operators who joined them

Alejandro serves as Chief Executive Officer and Sergio as Co-Chief Executive Officer. The founding team has been joined over time by Daniel Tomás Bartomeus as Chief Technology Officer, who brings experience building and running technology at large international companies. The board has also been strengthened with outside expertise from the legal tech world, reflecting the company's ambition to keep scaling beyond its original market.

When we invested, and what followed

We first backed Bigle in a funding round we led, with participation from ICF Venture Tech II alongside existing investors THCap and Cuatrecasas, to help fuel the company's international expansion beyond Spain. It was an easy call for us: legal document automation is a category where the winning product needs both technical depth and genuine credibility with legal teams, and Bigle's founders had both. Since then, the platform has been adopted by companies across industries and expanded its language coverage to serve legal teams across multiple European and Latin American markets, continuing to grow its international footprint as more legal departments look to bring their operations in-house.
