Kimera Technologies raises €2M to scale its AI engine for smarter product discovery

We are pleased to announce our latest investment in Kimera Technologies, Valencia-based developers of a conversational search engine that improves how people search and discover products online.

Adara Ventures led the €2 million+ seed round, with participation from Bonsai Partners, Addendum Capital, and other investors, as well as support from public funding initiatives.

The challenge: Search has become the bottleneck in eCommerce

Despite the rise of AI across the retail ecosystem, most online stores still rely on legacy keyword search engines that struggle with real-world shopping behavior. 

Digital product catalogs are often incomplete or inconsistently labeled, and conventional search systems remain limited to rigid text matching. This can leave online shoppers feeling frustrated when they cannot find what they are actually looking for, and retailers with lower conversion rates, reduced average order value, and, ultimately, lost revenue. 

As online commerce grows more complex, retailers need to incorporate search tools that can understand natural language, interpret visual information, and guide users to the right products with the same intuition as an in-store sales assistant.

Enter Kimera: The AI layer for a more intuitive and accurate search experience

Kimera is building a new standard for product discovery, combining natural language understanding, computer vision, and conversational AI to deliver search experiences that go far beyond keywords. All of this is delivered with low-latency retrieval and plug-and-play integration with major eCommerce platforms (including Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop, and LogiCommerce), allowing retailers to deploy advanced search with minimal effort and immediate impact on conversion.

Kimera’s technology is already used by more than 40 retailers across categories including cosmetics, fashion, sportswear, home goods, and specialty retailers.
