On the lookout for
I hold degrees in Law and Business Administration and have been a member of the Spanish State Economist Body since 1969. My career spans four decades in the corporate sector and two in public administration across Europe and the Americas. In public service, I focused on attracting foreign investment - securing the 1992 Seville World Fair and later bringing nearly €2 billion to the Madrid region as Chairman of Promomadrid.
In the private sector, I built a reputation for complex turnarounds: leading a management buyout of an engineering subsidiary back to profitability and taking control of the Madrid Warner theme park on the verge of Chapter 11, restructuring and selling it for €305 million. I also helped launch the Puy du Fou park in Toledo and have sat on numerous multinational boards. I've been Chairman of Adara Ventures since 2003.
At Adara, I leverage my extensive background in global markets, corporate governance and crisis management to support our early-stage deep tech investments. Having sat on both sides of the table - from navigating corporate bankruptcies to securing massive international investments - I know exactly what it takes to build a resilient, scalable organization, and I try to guide our team and founders with the strategic foresight that only decades of multinational leadership can provide.
Building a globally successful company demands far more than just innovative technology; it requires rigorous governance and the ability to adapt under immense pressure. Outside the boardroom, my focus is dedicated to philanthropy and international education - I remain deeply active as Vice Chairman of the King Juan Carlos I Foundation at NYU, alongside several Spanish business and educational foundations.
