Low code platforms already allowed more people to change business critical software. AI coding tools have accelerated that shift. A developer, administrator or business user can now generate applications and configuration at a speed that manual review processes were not built to match. The output may work in a demonstration while carrying security weaknesses, compliance gaps, fragile dependencies or technical debt into production.
For an enterprise, the problem is accountability. It needs to define what production ready means across different platforms, enforce those standards before release and show which policy governed a change. A code review performed after the work is complete cannot provide enough control when AI agents and assistants are producing changes continuously.
Quality Clouds provides a governance layer for human and AI generated code. It analyses code and platform configuration against quality, security and compliance rules, applies gates within development workflows and keeps an audit trail of scans, policies and decisions. The platform covers enterprise environments including ServiceNow and Salesforce as well as code produced in newer AI native development tools.
Its current product direction moves governance earlier in the process. Rules can be applied while code is being created, inside platform editors and agent workflows, before a change reaches production. Enterprises can manage the policies themselves, version them and prove which version applied at a particular point in time. That makes governance an operational control rather than a periodic report.
Quality Clouds began by measuring the customisation and technical debt accumulating inside low code and no code platforms. Its tools gave platform owners a consistent view of code quality, configuration and risk across large ServiceNow and Salesforce estates. That foundation has become more relevant as AI increases the volume and variety of code entering the same systems.
In July 2026, the company launched Quality Clouds Hub, bringing automated certification, quality gates, rule enforcement and audit evidence into one governance environment for AI generated and human written code. Quality Clouds draws on experience across more than 950 governed enterprise instances and 13 million catalogued issues. That history gives its rule set a base in recurring production problems rather than generic linting alone.
Quality Clouds was founded by Albert Franquesa and Ángel Márquez and developed with a technical team in Barcelona before expanding its commercial presence internationally. The company now is headquartered in London, and has offices in Barcelona and New York. The company works with large enterprises and technology service partners that need consistent controls across complex software estates. That partner route is particularly important when governance has to travel across multiple clients, development teams and platform implementations.
We backed Quality Clouds €1.2 million seed round in 2020, and returned in 2022 to participate in a £5.5 million round led by YFM Equity Partners, with Aldea and the UK Future Fund joining alongside us. The capital supported international expansion, including commercial growth in the United States, and continued development of the governance platform.
The original investment thesis was that enterprises needed an independent way to measure and control what was being built on shared software platforms. AI has made that need larger. Quality Clouds has accumulated the rules, platform knowledge and issue history required to judge code in context, then embedded those controls into the places where teams work. We believe that independent, auditable governance will become part of the infrastructure enterprises require to use AI generated code safely, making Quality Clouds a natural fit with our Trusted AI Infrastructure thesis.
